Making Northern Suburb Entertainment Precincts a Safer Place

North Metro volunteer Street Chaplains patrol late at night in Joondalup, Scarborough and Hillary’s Boat Harbour, helping to make our streets a safer place.

We liaise closely with local councils, WA Police, security staff and local business owners to assist patrons get home safely after a big night out or to assist those sleeping rough on our streets.

This assistance may include providing water, blankets, first aid, mediation in conflict situations or guidance to those intoxicated to find a safe means home. At other times, chaplains simply provide a listening ear when someone needs to talk.

Every Chaplain has a Senior First Aid Certificate and a Working with Children Check. Their training also includes alcohol and drug awareness and liaising with crisis management agencies.

We currently patrol on Friday nights, so between the hours of 9pm and 2am you may have a Street Chaplain come over and say hello. You’ll most likely find us in the Joondalup shopping precinct, on the walkway at Hillary’s Boat Harbour or on the Esplanade in Scarborough. Please feel free to come and have a chat.
